Song Premiere: The Yawpers Debut 'Mon Nom'

Colorado trio the Yawpers won critical acclaim in 2015 for the release of their album American Man, earning praise for their uniquely raucous, blues-tinged punk rock style. They’re now poised to release their first album in two years, Boy in a Well, on August 18.

The set was produced by Tommy Stinson (The Replacements, Bash & Pop) and Alex Hall (JD McPherson, Pokey LaFarge), and is based on World War One-era France. Interestingly, it incorporates a story concept — complete with an accompanying illustrated storybook created by J.D. Wilkes of The Legendary Shack Shakers — about a mother abandoning her child down a well.

Yahoo Music is excited to debut the latest single from the project, “Mon Nom,” for fans to get a taste of the new music.

The Yawpers will be hitting the road at the end of this month, touring through the fall. If you’d like to keep up with their schedule, check here.
