Song premiere: Thorp Jenson brings the folk to Modern English classic

Richmond, Va.-based guitarist Thorp Jenson is gaining quite a bit of attention with his self-produced debut, Odessa, a singer-songwriter’s workbook of soulful, free-spirited rock anchored with intriguing storytelling. Jenson is supported on the release by musicians who have worked and toured alongside artists like k.d. lang, Matthew E. White, Natalie Prass, and more.

Yahoo Music is excited to premiere one of Jenson’s more unexpected selections — a cover of Modern English’s “I Melt With You,” which gives the 1982 classic a new twist with his dreamy, atmospheric indie-folk approach, as well as sits nicely among his original compositions.
