Somerset Township home damaged by fire

Apr. 30—SOMERSET, Pa. — Firefighters from five departments battled a house fire late Sunday in Somerset Township.

The fire was reported on the 100 block of Oxford Heights Road and was reported as fully involved before crews arrived, Somerset Fire Department Safety Officer Dave Sube said.

Sube said responders at the scene reported that the blaze had progressed to the point that responders had to use a defensive attack from outside the home.

Sube said the home was reported as unoccupied, and a state police fire marshal is investigating.

No injuries were reported, Sube said.

Somerset firefighters were joined by Listie, Friedens, Bakersville and Sipesville fire departments at the scene, as well as Somerset EMS, Sube said.
