On Friday at 1 p.m. ET, Swiss pilots and inventors Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg will join Yahoo News editors Jason Gilbert and Max Zimbert to discuss the Solar Impulse, their solar-powered plane that's scheduled to complete its flight across America next week.
The Solar Impulse is the first solar-powered plane to fly across the continental U.S. day and night without fuel. It weighs as much as a sedan and flies around 40 mph.
The plane's journey began in San Jose in March with stops in Arizona, Texas, Missouri, Ohio and Washington D.C. At each stop, the plane, which has a roughly 70-yard wingspan, has been open to public viewing, attracting more than 75,000 visitors.
