Dolce & Gabbana was blasting the entire Bieber album before the show started a whopping 40 minutes late. This was fun for most of us—who doesn’t love a “Sorry” singalong?—but maybe not for Sofia Richie, the teen style icon with designer jeans and famous genes (dad is Lionel, big sister is Nicole). She is, after all, the pop star’s last girlfriend… And Dolce’s invited guest. “They’re throwing her major shade,” said the fashion editor in front of us. “I can’t believe she’s not leaving.”
But as a kid who grew up in the spotlight, Richie seemed cool with it—and talked to us about her big Italian front row debut just before Bella Hadid hit the catwalk.
Yahoo Style: Ciao, Sofia!
Sofia Richie: That’s exactly how they say it here! They hear my name and think I’m Italian. Then they start speaking Italian and I’m like, “I’m from Los Angeles!”
Why come to Dolce?
Are you kidding?! I have been watching Dolce & Gabbana shows online forever. They put on these incredible spectacles and the clothes are insane… I just met the designers before the show.
That’s a big deal!
I’m such a fan, so it was a big deal to me. [Laughing] “Fashion star struck.”
Dolce makes super sexy clothes. But your style is more laid back, right?
Well, there’s lots of different ways to [wear] their clothes. Obviously on the runway, it’s the world they’ve created. But I’ve seen so many women take their pieces and make them their own. That’s what I look for when I [shop].
You’re wearing a blazer over a bra top. And you look amazing. Do you work out?
No. Sorry! I don’t really at all. And I love Italian food!
