Social media debates JuJu Smith-Schuster's TD celebration: What's your call?
Pittsburgh Steelers receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster is clearly having a blast early in his NFL career.
The rookie receiver caught an 11-yard touchdown to give the Steelers a 19-0 lead against Baltimore in the second quarter, but the best part of it all came after the play with Smith-Schuster’s celebration, which sparked debate on Twitter.
After scoring, Smith-Schuster fired the ball across the end zone, mimicking either the popular video game “Street Fighter” or the Japanese Anime “Dragon Ball Z.”

Seeing as Smith-Schuster is only 20 years old, our guess is he was doing his best Kamehameha impression, not a Hadouken (“Street Fighter” came out in 1987, nine years before Smith-Schuster was born). “Dragon Ball Z” has been consistently airing on television in the U.S. since 1998.
An interesting wrinkle in all of this is the SNES Classic released this weekend, containing “Street Fighter II,” which prominently features the Hadouken.
Update: After the game, Smith-Schuster settled the debate with a tweet of his own, confirming he was referencing “Dragon Ball Z.”
