Social media connection lands man in jail, woman in hospital

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – A Johnstown man was jailed Tuesday, accused of raping a woman in a basement after they exchanged photographs on social media and text messages, authorities said.

Stonycreek Township police charged Raemil Lamont Morris, 20, of Oakhurst Homes, with rape, sexual assault and two counts each of aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault.

According to a complaint affidavit, Morris, using the Facebook profile name “Tweak Out,” met the woman online in April and exchanged text messages and photographs.

The woman agreed to meet him at her apartment April 28.

Morris allegedly raped the woman in the basement and later sent her a text saying, “U okay, my bad luv,” the affidavit said.

The woman was examined at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown.

Morris was picked up on an arrest warrant and arraigned by on-call District Judge John Prebish, of Cresson, and sent to Cambria County Prison in Ebensburg after failing to post 10% of $200,000 bond.
