- Ronnie O'Sullivan stemmed a late surge by Shaun Murphy to take a 10-6 lead in their match at the Snooker World Championships on Friday. A five-time world champion, O'Sullivan led 9-3 before Murphy, champion in 2005, reeled off three successive frames to ensure the contest went to a third and final session on Saturday. Last year's beaten finalist Ding Junhui led his compatriot Liang Wenbo 9-7. Stuart Bingham, the 2015 champion, had the satisfaction of recording the largest break so far of 138 in his dour second round clash with English compatriot Kyren Wilson but ended up losing 13-10.
