Your Snapchat and Instagram feeds are about to be a sea of green and gold, with St.Patrick’s Day less than 24 hours away the apps are rolling out their signature stickers and filters. Both apps usually release themed stickers and filters for various holidays to help users get into the spirit of things.
Instagram has done its best to imitate Snapchat with the addition of stories and stickers. As of mid-day Thursday they had added a few stickers to the app to celebrate St.Patty’s Day on Friday.
Snapchat had also uploaded stickers, but none of their traditional lenses had been updated for the holiday. Both of the apps were going for glasses stickers for their users, and of course the rainbows and shamrocks that have become synonymous with St.Patrick’s Day.
Users were already expressing some concern over the missing lenses on Wednesday, two days before the actual holiday.
They were even reaching out on Twitter to see if the app was planning on altering the current lenses for the day.
Others didn’t take the missing lenses as well though.
While there were no lenses, there was a sponsored “Counting down to St.Patrick’s Day” filter by Jameson, the Irish Whiskey company.
