'Smoke on the Water' firefighter competition returns to downtown Cuyahoga Falls
The Cuyahoga Falls Fire Showdown "Smoke on the Water" will return to downtown Cuyahoga Falls on Friday, June 2, from 5-10 p.m. The event, sponsored by the city of Cuyahoga Falls, Cuyahoga Falls Firefighter Memorial Foundation, and Western Reserve Hospital, will showcase 16 teams of firefighters representing 11 area departments competing in a relay challenge to determine who is the best of the best.

The family-friendly event will feature food trucks, craft beer vendors, and 80s music with Cleveland's Breakfast Club from 8-10 p.m. at the Downtown Amphitheater.

“The Falls Fire Showdown is a chance for the community to come together and support our men and women of the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department,” said Mayor Don Walters. “Join me in rooting for our Cuyahoga Falls Firefighters as they show off their skills to support a great cause.”
All funds raised at the Falls Fire Showdown will benefit the Cuyahoga Falls Firefighters Memorial Foundation and the construction of a permanent memorial that incorporates the historic Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department bell. The Cuyahoga Falls Firefighters Memorial Foundation is dedicated to preserving the legacy of those who served the Cuyahoga Falls as firefighters, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
