Smoke briefly closes St. Louis Arch visitor’s center

ST. LOUIS — A small electrical fire resulted in some delays at the Gateway Arch. There was smoke coming from the control panel for one of the tram doors Monday morning. This caused the visitor center to close.

The fire department is investigating the incident. A representative tells FOX 2 that there was smoke but no flame.

There was around a 20 minute delay. Visitors are being allowed back into the national monument’s visitor’s center.
