Smithfield police searching for suspect in connection with Thursday stabbing

SMITHFIELD, Va. (WAVY) – The Smithfield Police Department is searching for a suspect in connection with a stabbing on Thursday.

Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Quail Street Thursday afternoon for reports of a stabbing incident.

Officers arrived to the scene and found one male victim with a stab wound. The victim was transferred to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.

After an investigation, police identified Tarvarus Kea as the suspect in connection with the incident. Kea is considered armed and dangerous, according to police.
