Everything from kettles to garden water hoses is now ‘smart’ – but your toilet could soon be getting a rather alarming technology upgrade.

Specifically, your toilet could soon use AI to analyse your urine and stools, and give you ‘early warning’ if you’re ill, a CEO has said.

The idea might seem alarming, but companies such as Grohe already offer ‘smart toilets’, with app controls and auto-opening lids – so adding AI is just the natural next step, one expert believes.

‘Imagine smart toilets in the future that will be analyzing human waste in real time every day.
‘You don’t need to be going to visit a physician every six months.

‘If any sign of disease starts showing up, you’ll be able to catch it much faster because of urine analysis and stool analysis.’
