Smart Free Photo Resizer review

Smart Free Photo Resizer lets you perform basic image manipulations, such as resizing and converting photos to another format. During our tests, we were delighted by the app's interface and the intuitive workflow it offers.

Pros

Touch-optimized interface: Smart Free Photo Resizer features a touch-optimized version of its layout launched from the Appearance tab, which enlarges all buttons and controls, making them easier to use on a touchscreen. Additionally, there is an option that can replace the standard context menus with a touch-optimized radial menu, just like the one found in the modern version of the OneNote app.

Image converter: You can easily convert groups of images from one format to another; the app supports seven image types, including JPEG, BMP, and PNG, and even offers additional encoding options for some output formats. When we tested the conversion speed for a handful of photos taken with an iPhone, we managed to convert the images from JPEG to BMP at an average speed of one photo per second.

Basic image manipulation: Instead of converting your images to another format, you can opt to rotate, flip, or resize them. You can also add a watermark comprised of an image, text, or both.

Cons

Lack of filters: We see the lack of photo filters as a definite drawback. We believe that with some basic color correction and image editing capabilities, this app would be a runaway success, thanks to its intuitive and enjoyable workflow.

Bottom Line

If you have some images that are rotated the wrong way, or if you're looking to upload some photos to a website, and they have to be the right size and format, an app like Smart Free Photo Resizer will satisfy your needs completely. And if you're using a touch-enabled PC, we strongly recommend the app, even if it's just to play around with the interface.
