‘Small fire’ breaks out in Northwest DC building

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A fire broke out in a vacant building in Northwest D.C. on Thursday morning, causing delays for some commuters.

The fire happened just after 9 a.m. in the 2100 block of Wisconsin Avenue NW. Smoke was showing from a vacant, three-story building there.

DC Fire and EMS crews said the small fire broke out in the basement of the building. It was extinguished by 9:39 p.m. and no one was injured.

The 2100 block of Wisconsin Avenue was closed as firefighters worked to put out the fire, causing delays for commuters.
