Small earthquake recorded in Dickinson County

SOLOMON, Kan. (KSNW) — A small earthquake has been recorded near the Dickinson and Saline County line.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the earthquake happened at 4:14 p.m. CDT. It happened in a field between the Solomon River and 2000 Ave and east of Barn Road.

The USGS says the quake registered just 2.7 magnitude and had a depth of just 2.6 miles. Most earthquakes do not cause damage unless they are magnitude 4 or greater.
