Drones can move incredibly fast, but that speed means we miss out on the nuance of what actually makes them take flight. With some carefully applied slow motion, however, you can really show off the fun physics at play.

A new video from Beyond the Press does it exactly that. The slow-mo footage of a newly purchased DJI Phantom 4 drone gives a nice look into the physics of the machine.

Not all drones operate the same way, though. While quadcopters all use the same general tactics of locomotion, other drones have less propellers which means their whole way of getting around is going to be different. But even on a standard quad, watching the drone lean in and then have the motors pick up the slack is mesmerizing.

Hopefully, they can get a slo-mo of an eagle attacking a Phantom next time.
