Slidell police officer injured in motorcycle crash
SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — A Slidell police officer was injured in a motorcycle crash on Monday, April 15.
The Slidell Police Department reported the crash happened near the intersection of West Howze Beach Road and Rio Street around 1 p.m.

SPD officials said a motorcycle officer was escorting state and local officials to view tornado damage in the area at the time of the crash.
According to the SPD, “During the escort, the Slidell Police motorcycle struck an unmarked Louisiana State Police vehicle.”
They said the officer suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital. No other injuries were reported.
SPD officials said the LSP will investigate the crash.
“For now, please keep the officer in your thoughts and prayers,” the department wrote in a Facebook post.
