SLED called in to assist following officer-involved shooting in Florence County

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is aiding the Florence County Sheriff’s Office in an investigation following an officer-involved shooting, authorities said on Sunday.

Details are limited, but Maj. Michael Nunn said SLED’s assistance was requested as is standard procedure.

The incident happened along National Cemetery Road, and Sheriff T.J. Joye requested SLED’s help, Nunn said in an email.
