SLED: 2 women accused of neglecting vulnerable adult at Florence facility

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) –Two women were arrested by SLED Thursday for failure to report abuse and neglect of a vulnerable adult at Pee Dee Regional Center in Florence, according to arrest warrants.

Adria Denise Davis, 52, of Columbia and Tominka Tunisia Grant, 44, of Blythewood are both accused of not protecting a vulnerable resident who was being physically assaulted, warrants show.

Davis and Grant formerly worked at Pee Dee Regional Center on National Cemtery Road. Davis was a facility administrator and Grant was a residential director.

Both had knowledge that a resident was bitten by another resident, and “knowingly and willfully” neglected the victim by not taking actions to maintain the health and safety of the victim or protect the victim from further physical assaults from the other resident after assuring the victim’s guardian that safeguards would be put into place, warrant shows.

Warrants state that the victim suffered numerous physical injuries over a period of time from June 2023 to January 2024. The allegations were gathered through interviews, documents, and information provided by SLED.
