FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif. (AP) -- Nursing home owner Skilled Healthcare Group Inc. CEO Boyd Hendrickson plans to retire from his post around the end of the year.
Hendrickson, who has been with Skilled Healthcare the past 10 years, said in a statement on Monday that he feels the time is right to retire because he will be turning 69 this year.
Skilled Healthcare's board will hire an executive search firm to help find a successor. It will consider internal and external candidates.
Hendrickson plans to remain chairman.
In addition, Devasis Ghose will be leaving Skilled Healthcare at the end of the month. Ghose's roles as executive vice president, treasurer and chief financial officer will end on July 8. He will stay with the company through July 31 to help prepare its second-quarter financial statements and to assist with ongoing HUD financing efforts.
Senior Vice President, Finance, and Chief Accounting Officer Christopher N. Felfe will serve as acting CFO starting on July 8. Skilled Healthcare said it is doing away with Felfe's old position.
Shares of the Foothill Ranch, Calif., company added 6 cents to $6.74 in morning trading.
