Six displaced after overnight house fire, no injuries

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) said six people have been displaced after an overnight fire in eastern Colorado Springs.

CSFD said at around 11:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 18 firefighters were at a single-family home in the 2800 block of Avondale Drive near South Carefree Circle and Oro Blanco Drive. Fire crews reported a heavy fire at the home.

At around 11:50 p.m. CSFD reported that those living in the home were able to get out safely and the bulk of the fire was knocked down. CSFD said there were no reported injuries to either the occupants of the home or firefighters.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and CSFD said six people are now displaced.
