Barron is a black vulture, one of two species of vulture that inhabit our area, the other being the turkey vulture. The two are easy to tell apart; the head of the turkey vulture is red, and the head of the black vulture, as you can see, is black. Both are part of nature’s cleanup crew, making their livings primarily by scavenging.
