Sister Wives Star Janelle Brown Contemplates a ‘Terrifying’ Move to Mend Her Relationship with Meri

After years of on-and-off tension, Sister Wives’ Meri and Janelle Brown are trying out some possible new ways to save their relationship.

In an exclusive clip of Sunday’s episode, the reality stars are surprised when their family therapist, Nancy Hunterton, suggests they either take a camping trip together or go out to dinner to work on their communication.

“The idea of going away on a camping trip for a couple of days, it’s emotionally terrifying to me to because we don’t even ride in the same car when we come ,” says Janelle. “That’s just way too exposed — way too uncomfortable.”

The Sister Wives stars began seeing their therapist at the start of last season, but they both admit their relationship still needs some work.

“I think Janelle and I would enjoy camping, but it’s so far out of the boxes we’ve created for ourselves,” says Meri. “We’re not quite ready for that yet.”

When Hunterton suggests they sit together and listen to an audiotape on vulnerability, they both decide it would be better to listen to the tape alone first, then listen together.

“I think that’s the issue with you — that you both have terrible difficulty with being vulnerable,” says Hunterton.

Sister Wives airs Sundays (9 p.m. ET) on TLC.
