SISD students to help provide free dental treatment to over 800 residents

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso District Dental Society, Texas Mission of Mercy organization and the Socorro Independent School District (SISD) are partnering together to provide free dental treatment to the El Paso community.

The free dental event will be from Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13 at Socorro High School, located at 10150 Alameda Avenue. On Friday, the event will be from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Saturday, the event will be from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The SISD students are a part of the dental program in the Health Professions Academy (HPA) and aim to assist over 800 patients, according to a news release from SISD.

HPA students will be assisting professionals with x-rays, data entry, chairside assistance, supplies, vitals registration and documentations, according to SISD.

According to SISD, walk-ins are welcomed until capacity is full and the services provided will be cleanings, fillings and extractions.
