SISD ‘Project Search’ students celebrate completion of internships

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Socorro Independent School District (SISD) Project Search Program will be celebrating seven students who completed their yearlong internships on Wednesday morning, May 15, the school district said in a press release.

SISD says the celebration will be from 10 a.m. through 11 a.m. at the Hospitals of Providence East located at 3280 Joe Battle Blvd.

Project Search is an international program and one of SISD’s transition programs for students with disabilities to help them enter the workforce, according to the school district.

SISD says students participated in a yearlong internship at the hospital, working in different departments to “develop employability skills.”
