Siri Betrayed Her Human by Texting Her Crush, and Twitter Can't Even
Technology might not be our friend in the 21st century (but then again, exactly one episode of Black Mirror could tell you that). One Twitter user, @CeciMula, has shared a nightmarish story that should be a cautionary tale to everyone who likes to use Siri's talk-to-text function (or just enjoys talking to Siri without fear of retribution).
It all started when Ceci looked to Siri to lend an ear to her crush problems, but the iPhone assistant betrayed her trust by sending a text to the crush in question. Ceci wrote on Twitter, "I JUST ASKED SIRI IF A CERTAIN BOY WOULD EVER TEXT ME AND SHE SENT A TEXT SAYING WILL YOU EVER TEXT ME TO HIM. My funeral will be held at 8pm this Thursday." *Cringe.*
For those who pointed out that Siri asks you to confirm a text before she sends it, well, Ceci messed up, and in a panic, accidentally hit send when she tried to close out. The worst part of the whole thing is that not only did the boy leave her on read, but now, her tweet has gone viral, making her snub a public affair. Clearly, whoever Ceci was crushing on is missing out on a hilarious date.
People on Twitter were very sympathetic to Ceci's Siri mishap, and many related to her struggle on every level. One even pointed out the similarities to a television show and not real life, saying, "It’s like that one episode of Black Mirror where ppl go on dates because of their little round computer thing. And how it guarantees that you’re going to find a match with 99.8% compatibility so maybe this is your match." One user gave the helpful suggestion of turning on Airplane Mode to stop the text from sending. Others seized the moment to ask Ceci on a date. Regardless of whether or not she's ready to move on after this brutal blow, at least she'll always have Siri by her side.
