‘Sir-Plows-A-Lot’ will soon be clearing snow from Kern County highways

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Caltrans announced the winning, perhaps, quirky names for new snowplows that will soon clear snow from California highways.

In Kern and Fresno counties, you’ll soon thank the driver of “Sir-Plows-A-Lot” for removing snow from highways. Caltrans said “Sir-Plows-A-Lot” is the winning name for District 6’s new snow plow submitted by Thaddeus Ashford.

More than 3,000 Californians submitted names for the statewide contest to name new plows in each of Caltrans’ 11 districts, the agency said.

The grand prize winner? “Snowtorious B.I.G.” for District 4’s snow plow in the Bay Area.

Each winner will get a $50 gift card and the grand prize winner will receive an additional $100 gift card.

Caltrans reminds drivers they can check road conditions using its QuickMap app.
