Why Sir Alex Ferguson is the greatest coach of all time ... in any sport

Just days after appearing healthy and happy on the field at Old Trafford to present his old foe Arsene Wenger with a commemorative trophy, Sir Alex Ferguson is in the hospital, following emergency surgery on a brain hemorrhage.

Across the world, rivalries have been cast aside as well-wishers pay tribute to one of the most influential figures in the history of the beautiful game.

With 49 trophies across a 39 year career — 38 of which were won in 27 years at Manchester United — Fergie is a prime candidate for the best manager of all time.

But could the celebrated Knight of the Realm, who has gone on to teach management to executives at Harvard Business School, be considered the greatest coach in any sport? We make the case in our latest video.

FC Yahoo wishes the very best to Sir Alex and the Ferguson family.
