Singaporean band We Are Forest had their van broken into and robbed at a hotel car park in California during their U.S. tour.

The band was staying at the Hampton Inn Oakland-Hayward when three of their guitars and some personal items were stolen.

“The van was parked at the hotel carpark and when we were about to hit the road to the next destination in Sunset Boulevard, we found that some of our stuff was stolen like Darell’s (singer and bassist) bass,” the band told Coconuts Singapore.

American emo rock band Ben Quad, who is currently on tour with We Are Forest, also lost their merch box, along with the money inside.

On Tuesday, the Singaporean band informed their followers of the incident in an Instagram post.

“Hey gang, our important stuff got stolen from the van last night, and we’re not even halfway done with the tour,” the band wrote, adding that they will continue on with the tour despite the robbery.

The two bands also launched a GoFundMe page, which has now raised over $9,000 in donations.

“We’re making this GoFundMe to try and get some replacement instruments for the rest of tour + recover financially. We appreciate any help whatsoever!” the bands wrote.

Despite the unfortunate incident, singer and bassist Darell Sungkono appeared happy with the reception they have received in the U.S. so far.

"It’s been so good, we’ve really enjoyed seeing a fanbase grow in America and they were many requests for us to come and play on that side of the world so it’s really cool to finally be able to meet our followers here!" he told Coconuts.

The band is scheduled to play 12 more shows before ending their “Get in Losers, We're Going to Walmart” tour in Queens, New York City, on May 16.
