Simon Cowell claims he hasn't spoken to Cheryl in six months as he slams X Factor rumours

Simon Cowell has rather adamantly denied claims that he offered Cheryl £500,000 to make a sensational return to The X Factor later this year, revealing that he hasn’t spoken to the new mum in months.

In fact, according to the music mogul, he hasn’t exchanged words with the former judge since before she gave birth to her first child, baby Bear, in March – leaving fans to speculate that the pair have fallen out.

Just last week the Daily Star reported that Simon wants to “pull out all the stops” in this year’s series of The X Factor, with Simon determined to snap up both Cheryl and her boyfriend, One Direction’s Liam Payne, to make an appearance on the show.

However, when asked about the rumour by The Mirror, the straight-talking star replied: “It’s bullsh*t.

“I haven’t spoken to her in six months.”

Cheryl has a good track record as an X Factor judge, previously mentoring Alexandra Burke and Joe McElderry to victory in 2008 and 2009.

She last appeared as a judge in the 2015 series of the show, stepping down to focus on her music career.

Cheryl was then replaced with Nicole Scherzinger and the current judges’ line-up sees Nicole and Simon joined by Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne.

Discussing this year’s potential celebrity guests for the show, a spokesperson for The X Factor shared: “No decisions have been made as yet with regards to the mentors for Judges’ Houses.”
