For the Silent hosts free concert to raise awareness on human trafficking

TYLER, Texas (KETK) — For the Silent, a local nonprofit, hosted a free concert at Bergfeld Park in Tyler to raise awareness on sex trafficking.

$3 million scratch ticket sold in Palestine

The concert featured rock band ‘Remedy Drive,’ using it’s platform to raise awareness and fight against human trafficking. The band reportedly met with victims and survivors of human trafficking.

“They act as undercover or operatives internationally and help rescue victims on undercover operations. So their songs tell the stories of individuals. They share their stories through song and music,” said Becky Cunio, executive director of For the Silent.

Cunio said the hardest part of discussing the reality of sex trafficking within the community is starting the conversation. She said she hopes people who attended the concert leave with the tools necessary to identify sexual exploitation.
