‘Significant’ MARC Penn Line schedule changes to begin

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Amtrak construction work will lead to MARC Penn schedule changes, starting April 29.

“Amtrak’s planned construction work will require complete track closures from 11:15 p.m. to 5 a.m. and is expected to continue through November 2024,” according to the Maryland Department of Transportation.

The changes will mean that some trains may arrive early, and some will be delayed between Baltimore and Union Station in D.C.

Morning service to Washington Union Station

  • Train 401 (4:15 a.m. departure from Baltimore to Washington) will not operate.

  • Train 403 (4:40 a.m. departure from Baltimore to Washington) will operate 20 minutes later.

Late evening service, Monday-Thursday

  • Train 453 (9:35 p.m. departure from Baltimore to Washington) will depart 50 minutes earlier at 8:45 p.m. and be renumbered to Train 455.

  • Train 452 (10:55 p.m. departure from Washington to Baltimore) will depart 50 minutes earlier at 10:05 p.m. and be renumbered to Train 454.

Late evening service, Fridays

  • Trains 453 and 452 will maintain their current schedules on Fridays only.
