Car crashes into Kent home, sends father to hospital

A family member told KIRO 7 that a vehicle crashed into her parents’ home, and sent her father to a hospital Friday afternoon.

Maryanne Vakamoce said a driver was speeding on 116th Avenue SE and swerved to avoid a head-on collision with another vehicle. The vehicle left the road, she said, and traveled between large trees in her parents’ front yard and crashed into the living room wall, where her father was sitting on a couch helping another person.

The home is located at the corner on SE 223rd Drive in Kent.

She said her niece and little sister were also inside the home at the time of the crash as well.

Her father is at a hospital, but he is OK, she shared.

When KIRO 7 arrived to the scene, workers were boarding up the massive hole left in the family’s home, but did not see the driver or their vehicle.

W reached out to the Kent Police Department to get further details. The assistant police chief said he did not have details at the time of the call, but confirmed a vehicle crashed into the home.

He also said officers are currently investigating the case.
