Sierra Pacific Industries planned fire carried out of containment lines by wind, contained and under control

A planned fire started by Sierra Pacific Industries on Nov. 16 which was pushed out of its containment lines by winds on Wednesday evening has been mitigated.

The fire was sighted burning off of I-5 North, just south of Flume Creek, on Thursday morning, Laurry Beach, dispatcher at the Redding Interagency Communications Center, said.

The Cal Fire on-duty officer sent a response team to the area on Thursday and the fire is under control, she said. Sierra Pacific representatives met with officers on scene to evaluate the situation.
