Sidney Kimmel Entertainment Options Gary Lennon’s Play ‘Change’

EXCLUSIVE: Sidney Kimmel Entertainment just picked up the option on Gary Lennon’s play Change for producer William Horberg (The Talented Mr. Ripley, Cold Mountain, Milk). Lennon, who currently serves as executive producer and writer on Starz’s No. 1 rated series’ Power, is not only a writer, a Peabody and PGA winner for Orange is the New Black, but also has the distinction of having three of his produced plays acquired for feature adaptations.

Lennon will serve in a producing capacity on Change. The plot of the play is being kept under wraps and Lennon has retained the theatrical rights to the material. Horberg brought the project to SKE. Change is expected out next year in the legit world.

Lennon’s credits include the aforementioned Orange is the New Black and The Shield. He also recently wrote a pilot for Robert Downey at Showtime. Lennon’s deal was brokered by CAA and manager Dan Halsted with attorney Craig Emanuel.
