Sicilian Guys revives familiar Italian dishes in Summerlin with a Chicago flair

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Customers had a taste of Ignazio Sessa’s Italian dishes long before he opened Sicilian Guys Pizzeria at the end of December.

Now they’re rediscovering specialties like the Italian beef sandwich they used to get at the Omelette House at Rampart Boulevard and West Lake Mead Boulevard.

When the pandemic hit, Sessa stopped serving Italian dinners at the Omelette House to focus on breakfast and lunch. Pizza Hut closed next door, and Sessa jumped on the opportunity to bring the menu back in a new restaurant, Sicilian Guys. It’s got Chicago-style pizza — deep dish and thin — and even a traditional Sicilian pizza that’s made on focaccia bread. It’s big, too.

“Chicago pizza has a little more cheese than the New York style. The deep dish is just incredible. It’s huge. It’s like a pie,” Sessa said. “It’s just awesome.”

And if it seems like every local pizza place has New York decor, get ready for Chicago when you go to Sicilian Guys. There’s even a Chicago station on the TV.

Sicilian Guys is also a great place to get gelato.

Lasagna, chicken marsala, Sicilian rice balls (Arancini) and the Sicilian pizza are some of the highlights on the menu.
