Shumate scores 12 as McNeese takes down Nicholls 74-47

THIBODAUX, La. (AP) — Christian Shumate scored 12 points as McNeese beat Nicholls State 74-47 on Saturday night.

Shumate added 12 rebounds for the Cowboys (23-3, 12-1 Southland Conference).

Javohn Garcia and DJ Richards added 11 points apiece.

Diante Smith finished with 13 points for the Colonels (13-12, 8-4).

Nicholls State also got 10 points from Robert Brown III.

In addition, Mekhi Collins had six points and four steals.
