Shreveport Mayor in quarantine after testing positive for COVID

The Shreveport Mayor's Office announced on Christmas Eve that Mayor Adrian Perkins has tested positive for COVID-19.

This comes after a recent surge in COVID. The Louisiana Department of Health reported 2,835 COVID-19 cases on Dec. 23 for one day of testing.

LDH says the vast majority of these cases are tied to community spread.

The mayor's office said that Perkins is asymptomatic and will remain in quarantine for 10 days.
