Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday condemned Donald Trump's Truth Social account for sharing a video that referred to a “unified Reich” — a Nazi reference — as a possibility if he wins the 2024 presidential election.

“Extremists are trying to divide our nation, and we see them as they encourage xenophobia and hate. Just yesterday, the former president of the United States — this kind of rhetoric is unsurprising coming from the former president, and it is appalling. We gotta tell him who we are,” Harris said while she delivered the keynote speech at the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) convention in Philadelphia. “Once again: It shows our freedoms and our very democracy are at stake.”

The Trump campaign blamed a staffer for his account sharing the video Monday afternoon that asked, “What happens after Donald Trump wins?” and “What’s next for America?” before the video’s background flashed hypothetical newspaper frontpages. Text underneath one headline read: “Industrial strength significantly increased ... driven by the creation of a unified Reich.”

Trump’s account deleted the share on Truth Social by Tuesday morning.
