Elmira, N.Y. (WETM) – Showers move in tonight into Friday morning as temperatures continue to warm to end the work week. Snow and rain will move in to end the weekend with chances for some peaks of sunshine for the work week. More details below:

TONIGHT:

Rain moves in for the evening closer to 9 or 10pm tonight. Showers will continue throughout the overnight with chances for some fog primarily in higher elevations. It will be very warm with lows in the upper thirties and calm conditions.

FRIDAY:

We round out the work week on Friday with showers in the morning. After that, rain becomes spotty along with cloudy conditions. It will be very warm with highs in the lower to mid fifties and a breeze from the southeast at 5 to 10 mph.

WEEKEND:

We start the weekend on the drier side. A slight chance for a drizzle is possible, but otherwise there will be mainly cloudy skies along with cooler air. Temperatures will only reach the lower forties on Saturday. Another low pressure system approaches the region on Sunday bringing in more snow and rain to the region. It will again be cooler with highs in the upper thirties. After that, a high pressure system moves in bringing in drier conditions and also the chance for peaks of sunshine.

NEXT WEEK:

Highs will only be in the lower thirties on Monday behind a cold front along with mostly cloudy skies. After this, we finally start to see warmth again. Highs will reach the mid thirties on Tuesday along with mostly cloudy skies. Then we reach the upper thirties on Wednesday and then the lower forties on Thursday. Both days the skies will be mostly cloudy.
