Elmira, N.Y. (WETM) – Showers move in overnight as we begin to cool off to end the week. Temperatures stay above average until we get into the new work week. More details below:

TONIGHT:

Clouds continue to increase as we get into the evening. Showers will be with us late in the day and into Friday morning. It will be warm tonight as lows drop into the mid to upper forties and a breeze from the southeast at 5 to 15 mph.

FRIDAY:

Showers continue throughout the morning before we begin to dry out. Skies will remain mostly cloudy throughout the day with highs in the lower fifties and a breeze from the northwest at 10 to 15 mph.

WEEKEND:

We dry out as we get into the start of the weekend Skies will be mostly cloudy with highs in the mid fifties. Showers move back in as we get into St. Patrick’s Day on Sunday as a cold front moves in. It will be getting even cooler out with highs in the upper forties.

NEXT WEEK:

Showers and even some snow will be possible as we start off the new work week. Highs on Monday will only reach the upper thirties to near forty behind the cold front. We start to dry out as we get into Tuesday. Skies will be mostly cloudy with highs still in the upper thirties. We finally start to see some more warmth out there as we get in Wednesday. Highs will be in the lower to mid forties under a mixture of clouds and sun. We warm up to the lower fifties on Thursday along with continued partly cloudy skies.
