Showers expected to follow Mother’s Day weekend

(PINPOINT WEATHER) — Good evening and happy Saturday! It was an absolutely incredible day across the Carolinas, and more is on the way for Mother’s Day. Next week will start off with more great weather on Monday before wet weather returns Tuesday and Wednesday. More showers and storms are also possible later in the week heading into next weekend.

As for tonight and your Mother’s Day, mostly clear skies are expected overnight with more cool temperatures as lows drop down into the low 50s. Mother’s Day will be another fabulous day with mostly sunny skies with slightly warmer temperatures as highs push up towards the 80-degree mark. The good news is that the humidity will continue to remain very low across the Carolinas.

Heading into the new week we are expecting a very similar forecast for Monday with partly cloudy skies, low humidity, and highs around the 80-degree mark. The wet weather will return Tuesday with an area of low pressure and weak front moving through the region. That will also help to keep temperatures down in the low to mid-70s, but the humidity will return.

Later in the week we are tracking more potential showers on the way with a warm front Friday into Saturday. Scattered showers and storms are expected later in the day Friday and moving out Saturday morning. Behind the wet weather our highs Saturday could be pushing back up towards the upper 80s.

In the meantime, get ready for a fabulous Mother’s Day! Have a great night and shoutout to all the moms out there!
