Elmira, N.Y. (WETM) – Showers continue into the overnight as a cold front approaches the region. After the front moves through late Wednesday, we see chances for some snow in the mix as well. More details below:

TONIGHT:

Showers will continue throughout the rest of the night. It will be chilly and breezy with lows in the mid to upper thirties and a breeze from the southeast at 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

WEDNESDAY:

Showers will continue into midweek on Wednesday. A cold front moves through later in the day turning the rain back into snow for the rest of the day. It will be cooler with highs in the lower to mid forties and a breeze from the southwest at 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

REST OF THE WEEK:

Snow and rain will continue into Thursday as well for the second half of the work week. Highs will remain in the lower to mid forties. Snow showers will persist into Friday to round out the work week. Highs will only be in the lower forties.

WEEKEND:

Snow showers will linger into the start of the weekend on Saturday as well! We will be a touch warmer with highs in the lower to mid forties. After that, high pressure moves in and lovely conditions returns starting on Sunday. Skies will have a mixture of clouds and sun with highs in the lower to mid fifties.

NEXT WEEK:

We warm up to the lower to mid sixties on Monday to start off the new work week. Skies will remain partly cloudy. Then we become mostly sunny on Tuesday with highs still in the lower to mid sixties.
