Shots fired at residence on Cliff Street in Norwich CT. Here's what we know

Gunshots were fired into a residence on Cliff Street in Norwich on Monday.

Norwich Police said that at approximately 5:25 p.m. Monday, the dispatch center received several 911 calls reporting shots fired in the area of Cliff Street and North Cliff Street in Norwich.

Numerous patrol officers responded to the scene and located evidence of a shooting. The Norwich Police Department's Detective Division processed the scene for evidence. The initial investigation found that a multi-family residence on Cliff Street was struck by several rounds. At this time, it appears no one was injured as a result of the shooting.

Home not previously targeted

Norwich Police Detective Cornelius Carmody said Tuesday morning that there are no suspects at this time and the residence on Cliff Street had never been a target of any prior shootings. He also said he was unable to give the address of the residence on Tuesday morning.

Norwich Police said the investigation is ongoing and any further information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
