Who Shot at Rick Ross and His Rolls Royce?
Fort Lauderdale police have their hands full figuring out what happened during a shooting early Monday morning that eventually led to a Rolls Royce crashing into an apartment building, but Rick Ross fans have been all too eager to help. Witnesses say the megawatt rapper known as the Teflon Don was in the vehicle when "dozens" of shots were fired its way around 5 a.m., before crashing as it sped away, according to TMZ. NBC Miami has more play-by-play:
The Rolls Royce was traveling eastbound on Las Olas when another vehicle opened fire on it, police said.
When the Rolls tried to get away, it crashed into the building at 311 Southeast 15th Avenue. Neither of the two people inside were injured, police said.
The names of the people in the crash haven't been released, but multiple reports suggest that the Rolls belonged to Ross. TMZ notes that Ross was with a female in the car, and reports that they were not hit by the gunfire. The rapper hasn't spoken out yet, but the place (near Miami) and timing (early in the morning) would seem to add up: Ross was scheduled to celebrate his 37th birthday Sunday night at the Miami club LIV. He sent this tweet out early this morning:

As for who could be shooting at Ross and his posse, well, that's for the police to find out. He's had his share of beefs in the past, and just last month said he wouldn't stop his current feuds with 50 Cent and Young Jeezy — and that choking them "would be an option" if he ever ran into them. But there's no indication of celebrity scuffling at LIV. Twitter, of course, was quick to speculate what led to the shooting:

The "GD's" are the Gangster Disciples. The music and culture website The Shadow League has a timeline of Ross and the GD's war of words, which spanned over the past four months and included multiple threats. The GD's said in a message to Ross in November:
We in the struggle we ain’t going let you sit there and perpetuate our struggle in no way shape or form. ... We know you going to be in Greensboro we know you’re going to be Charlotte, we going to be there too.
