‘Get Shorty’: What Will Happen In Season 1, Episode 9?

Miles and Louis try to salvage their movie in Season 1, episode 9 of “Get Shorty.”

According to the synopsis for this week’s episode of the Epix series, Miles (Chris O’Dowd) and Louis (Sean Bridges) rush to Los Angeles to attempt to save their film “The Admiral’s Mistress” following an unforeseen event that halts its production.

Last episode, Miles, April (Megan Stevenson) and director Hafdis (Peter Stomare) all decided to replace Becca Morgan (Ruth Kearney) in the role of Margaret after the actress had repeatedly refused to follow the film’s script and Hafdis’ instructions. April offered the role to Carey Mulligan and soon found out that the actress wants to play the film’s lead. Over dinner, April and Miles told Brandon about their plan to replace Becca with Carey. Although recasting the role would cost extra money for Brandon, the studio head unexpectedly gave his blessing to the duo’s plan.

Brandon, however, had a change of heart the next morning and released a statement to Deadline announcing that that Gravity Pictures has stopped the production of “The Admiral’s Mistress.” “The moment we learned of Ms. Morgan’s injury, we stopped the production. At Gravity, the safety of talent and crew is our first priority,” read Brandon’s statement.

April got a call from her secretary and learned that Becca had filed an accident report, claiming that her cornea had gotten scratched while filming a scene in the dusty desert of Nevada. Miles said that Becca filed the report because she knew that they were trying to get rid of her. But April didn’t think so. “Becca couldn’t do this on her own. It’s happening too fast,” April told Miles. “Brandon must have known. “

Whether or not Brandon knew something about Becca’s accident report, Miles and Louis must quickly find a way to resume the film’s production because nothing good will happen once Amara (Lidia Porto) discovers that she’s in danger of losing her money.

Elsewhere in the episode, frightened that Amara and his crew might come after him after the film’s production was shut down, Rick (Ray Romano) flees to the mountains for protection.

“Get Shorty” Season 1, episode 9, titled “Turnaround,” airs on Sunday, Oct. 1 at 10 p.m. EDT on Epix.
