Shooting suspect identified in MS after police barricade

Miller, 48, is being held at the Quitman County Jail.

MARKS, Miss. — A man is in custody after a shooting and barricade situation Tuesday at a house in Marks, Mississippi.
Quitman County authorities reported an “active shooting” on their social media at 1 p.m. Just after 2, they posted that the situation was resolved and the suspect was in custody.
The suspect was barricaded in a house in the 1800 block of Charlie Pride Highway in Marks, they said.
Officers with rifles could be seen walking toward the house around 1:45. The Quitman County Sheriff’s Department, Mississippi Highway Patrol, Coahoma County Sheriff’s Department and other agencies responded.
Traffic nearby was shut down.
Marks is a community of about 1,300 people about 70 miles south of Memphis.
