Shooting on Shelby Drive leaves woman in critical condition

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman was critically injured after a shooting in Southeast Memphis on Monday, according to the Memphis Police Department.

At 4:55 p.m., officers say they responded to the 6900 Block of East Shelby Drive at a Shopping Center regarding a shooting. Police say a female victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound.

She was then taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition.

A witness says it started when three men began to argue.

“The guy in the black Charger and the other guy in the black Ford Fusion began to fight the guy in the white Maxima. And the guy that was in the white Maxima pulled out his gun and he shot each one of them,” the witness said.

At this point, Memphis police have linked only one critically wounded person to the shooting.

MPD says this is still an ongoing investigation.
