3-year-old shoots himself in the face; mom charged

Memphis Police responded to a shooting in the 900 block of Lagrange Avenue around 2 a.m. A man was taken to Regional One in critical condition.

The suspect fled the scene in a black Kia sedan.

Shirley Adams, a woman who lives in the area, told WREG she was lying in her bed when she heard someone crying for help outside her window.

“I heard the shots and a man screaming for help. When they came and got him – come to find out – he was on the other side of my bedroom window. I’ve never seen him. I don’t know who he was,” Adams said.

One of the bullets went through Adams’ window– this is the second time this has happened in the last five months.

“They need to patrol this neighborhood,” said Adams. “City leaders help us, please. Let’s get the police to come out here daily so these criminals can see we are not alone.”
